CV1 Coffee Maker: How to Use it with This Magic Feature

Today I’m going to talk about the CV1 coffee maker and how to use it to brew great coffee.

CV1 is an easy-to-use coffee machine that makes nothing but delicious coffee. It’s a relatively small device and you can even take it with you if you travel for the weekend – it easily fits in your car’s boot (not on an airplane).

Let’s go over all the reasons that make this coffee maker so special.

How to use the CV1 coffee maker?

To brew coffee with a single-serve CV1 machine, open a pack of coffee ‘Cafe Valet’ which is coffee that comes in teabags, put it on the top shelf of the brewer right underneath the logo, fill the by lifting the lid on the back of the machine and press the ‘START’ button.

CV1 features you should know

Here’s a bunch of the features of a CV1 you should know:

  • It has a red button underneath the ‘START’ button; it’s illuminating when you’re brewing. Once the brewing is completed the red button shuts off indicating that your coffee is ready.
  • CV1 coffee machine has a unique feature called ‘Keep-Warm’, by pressing the button it will keep your coffee warm for up to 2 hours – pretty good right?
  • It takes only 2 minutes to brew 1 cup of coffee

Unlike other coffee machines such as Keurig that have special features including ‘high altitude settings‘ , CV1 is simple but great coffee machine.

What are the benefits of brewing coffee with CV1?

Let’s go through the benefits of making coffee with a CV1 machine:

  • They don’t need installation; just plug it in, add water and coffee grounds and you’re good to go.
  • It’s a pretty good make coffee maker that lasts long – if you keep it in a good condition it might last up to 5 years. Hotels use them and many put one in every guest room simply because they last long
  • Because it takes coffee in teabags it makes cleaning easy as coffee grounds don’t slip through all over the inside of the machine
  • The ‘Keep-Warm’ feature is what a real coffee lover has been wishing their brewer had – who wants to drink lukewarm coffee?
  • It’s a relatively small machine, so if you travel to your summer house for a few days, you can easily take it with you.
  • It brews directly into your mug without needing to use a carafe
  • The coffee (Cafe Valet) it takes is Rainforest Alliance certified
  • It’s USL-approved for both household and commercial use
  • It’s affordable to buy as it’ll cost you only $24.99

How to clean a CV1 coffee brewer?

The cleaning of a CV1 is fairly easy.

As mentioned above, because the coffee grounds it takes comes in teabags, it saves you from cleaning thoroughly coffee residue that builds up on the inside over time.

But in order to maintain it in top condition, you can take it off the plastic shelf where the coffee grounds are placed and wash it with washing-up liquid and a splash of white vinegar.

If you use tap water for brewing and the water in your area is rich in hard metals, the chances are your machine will need descaling – you can mix water and vinegar, add it to the water tank, and brew (without any coffee grounds) to clean the pipes and removes those hard minerals.

Top tip: it’s wise to use filtered water when brewing because it doesn’t have so much chlorine and minerals.

CV1 coffee maker: how to troubleshoot

Troubleshooting is a process of elimination.

First, check if your brewer is properly plugged in or even if you face any electricity problems.

Another thing to check is if there’s water in the tank. If there’s none the machine won’t start. Make sure you add at least 200ml (what a typical mug takes)

If the problem persists you can have a glance at the manual booklet that comes with the machine in its box.

If you skimmed the booklet through and can’t identify and fix the issue, I suggest you contact customer support to seek advice.

Why are Café valet coffee packs great?

They are an eco-friendly coffee company and all its coffee is Rainforest Alliance certified which practically means they grow coffee in a sustainable way without damaging rainforests and the surroundings where the coffee trees grow.

Their coffee beans are Arabica with distinct rich coffee flavours which are served to over 1 million coffee lovers each year. Café Valet uses premium packaging to keep their coffee as fresh as possible. You can also find their decaf version if you’re into decaf coffee which comes in in green colour.

Why are Café valet coffee capsules great?

Instead of buying coffee packs, you can opt for capsules.

They also contain Arabica coffee rich in dark coffee flavours.

The capsules are made of recyclable material, (polypropylene Nitrogen). They’re single serve and they brew fantastic coffee. They also support a great cause which is helping families of fallen service members.

So you have one more good reason to try them out. (Using a CV1 coffee maker is pretty similar to a Haus Maid coffee maker.)

Let’s wrap it up

CV1 is definitely a great brewer to have; it’s handy easy to use and brews fantastic coffee. Since my coffee brewer is getting older, I’m entertaining the idea of purchasing a CV1 one that has exactly what I need from a coffee brewer. Did you know that you can use Alterra coffee packets without a coffee machine?
