What does Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino Starbucks

Overall is a refreshing, delicious drink with the 3 main flavours of coffee, chocolate, and peppermint combined together creating a unique drink. Drinks that blend coffee and chocolate together are most of the times great as the taste of these 2 are similar and go together so well while peppermint adds a refreshing and cool spin to this drink. And on top, you can taste the whipped cream and Mocha sauce that make the drink more appealing.

If you taste it and find it too sweet for you, I suggest you take a look at the Frappuccino menu at Starbucks as there are other plenty of options lower in calories and less sweet.

Can you customise a Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino at Starbucks?

Let’s chat about a couple of ways you can customise your Frappuccino and really relish each sip of it.

Order decaf

One of the great things at Starbucks is that you can customise your brew and order the way you really like it.

For example, if you are tolerant of caffeine and find it difficult to go to bed at night, it’s wise to order decaf coffee.

You can also ask for a different coffee roast and choose between light, medium or dark roast coffee beans. As you might have guessed, each roast type produces coffee that tastes different from the other roasts. For instance, light roast coffee beans produce more tangy and fruity coffee, while dark roast coffee beans brew more complex coffee with notes of chocolate or cocoa.

Less calories

Another way you can customise your Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino is to order the lighter version. Because it contains peppermint syrup, whipped cream, and Mocha sauce it’s high in sugar and by ordering the lighter version you’ll still be able to enjoy a delicious drink with less sugar and calories.

Alternatively, you can ask for fewer syrup pumps. For example, the typical recipe of this Starbucks Frappuccino has 2 peppermint and Mocha sauce pumps. Why not order yours with just 1 of each? This will reduce the amount of calories of your brew; considering that each pump contains 10 calories your brew now is going to have 410 (430 – 20).

Choose milk

Ordering the milk of your preference is another way to order this decadent Starbucks drink the way you like it.

More specifically, you can order the milk you like between:

  • Heavy Cream
  • Vanilla Sweet Cream
  • Nonfat Milk
  • Full fat Milk
  • Breve (half and half)
  • Almond
  • Coconut
  • Oat milk
  • Soy

Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino recipe

Let’s go over how to make Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino at home to impress family and friends.

The preparation time is only 5 minutes.

Ingredients for Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino at home

  • 16 gr of coffee grounds for 2 cups of coffee
  • 1 cup of milk (of your preference)
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cocoa powder
  • 2 pumps of peppermint syrup (or 5 to 7 drops of peppermint extract)
  • 1 serving of whipped cream
  • Chocolate chips or curls

Execution

Let’s go over the steps:

  • Use the coffee grounds to brew 2 cups of coffee and pour it over a glass full of ice to make your brew cold
  • Put the iced coffee (with the ice cubes), milk, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and peppermint syrup into a blender
  • Blend the mixture until the ice cubes are crushed
  • Pour the blend into a glass and top it with whipped cream and chocolate and you’re good to go

Top tip: your blender might find it difficult to crush the ice completely in the first go. If you see your device struggling to do so pause it, give it a break for a couple of minutes, and go back again. Repeat the process if your blender keeps on struggling with the ice.
